Bowls North take honours in Bowling Arm Tasmania Regional Round Robin

Bowls North won the day and the overall title as the best bowling arm region in Tasmania after the final round of the Bowling Arm Tasmania regional round robin which was held at the Kings Meadows Indoor Centre today.

Going into the final round, Bowls North and Bowls North West led the ladder with 18 point with Bowls South  trailing on 12 points.

In the morning session, North defeated North-West 12-11 and South 20-7 in the fours and North West 21-5 and South 21-11 in the singles.   South defeated North-West 16-8 in the fours and 21-15 in the singles,

In the afternoon session, North defeated North West 11-7 and South 12-6 in the pairs and South 24-6 in the triples, North-West defeated South 20-8 and North 18-11 in the triples and, South beat North-West 11-3 in the pairs.

Players were decked out in regional uniforms – thanks go to all three regions who agreed to lend their uniforms to players – and the players agreed that they all looked and felt much better wearing them.

Final points: 1st Bowls North 32, Bowls North West 22, Bowls South 18.

Bowls North’s Michael Shingles was the best performed player of the regional round-robin winning 5 out of six games played.
