Veolia State Wide Challenge – Open RD1

by admin on November 10, 2016

This Sunday 13th November will see the first round of the Open division of the Veolia State Wide Challenge commence at the Spreyton Bowls Club.
Please be aware that Bowls Tasmania has been in communication with our three regions and the host club, Spreyton, to discuss the possibility of inclement weather on Sunday with the forecast not looking good.

It has been agreed that every effort will be made to complete these games at Spreyton Bowls Club on Sunday.  The inclement weather clause in the Veolia State Wide Challenge Conditions of Play allows for the event supervisor to alter the format, location or times to achieve a result.  A minimum of 10 ends per rink can constitute a game under these conditions and will be utilised if necessary.

If the conditions do prohibit the event taking place on the grass greens at Spreyton then a decision will be made between 7.30am – 8am Sunday on relocating the event to the indoor facilities available.  The men will relocate to Burnie Bowls Club and the women will relocate to Kings Meadows Bowls Club.  If this scenario does occur, designated representatives from each regional side will be notified immediately.

We would like to thank each of the regions for their understanding on this matter and Spreyton Bowls Club as hosts of this event.  We would also like to thank Burnie Bowls Club and Kings Meadows Bowls Club for being on standby for us under these circumstances.
