National Multi Bowls Championships Final Wrap

by Rebecca Van Asch on May 28, 2019

The National Disability Championships, known as the National Multi Bowl, have recently concluded in Mackay with the Tasmanian bowlers with a disability competing as a team for the first time.

The Tasmanian Team, affectionately known as the Tasmanian Tiger Snakes, have just returned home after enjoying their first outing at the Championships.  Prior to this year Tasmania has been represented by individual bowlers and disciplines at the same event.

Alan Ryman walked away our best performer at the championships making it through to the quarter finals in his singles category.

Marcus Hardy also put in a strong showing in his first outing at the Championships and was awarded the 2019 Clover/Lester Encouragement Award for his efforts.  Teams were asked to nominate a bowler who is relatively new to the sport at a National level and who set a good example at all times on and off the greens, displayed good sportsmanship, encouraged others and has the potential to become a good bowler.  Disability Sports Australia also did a great interview with Marcus that can be viewed by clicking here.
