Bowls Tasmania State Pennant Finals on North-West Coast
Bowls Tasmania’s Saturday State Pennant finals commence on Saturday and concludes on Sunday at the Ulverstone, Turners Beach and Kings Meadows Bowls Clubs with premiers from the South, North, North West and East Coast playing against each other in the grand finale of bowls for the season.
Teams competing are:
- Premier: Port Sorell, Longford and Kingborough
- Division 1: Ulverstone, Longford and Franklin
- Division 2: Smithton, Westbury and New Norfolk
- Division 3: Port Sorell, Kings Meadows, Brighton and Scamander
- Division 4: Smithton, Westbury and Sorell
- Division 5: Kings Meadows and Franklin
- Division 6: Kings Meadows and Claremont
In Premier Division, some of the best bowlers in Tasmania will fight it out for State Premiership honours. Current State premiers Ulverstone could not overcome the very consistent Port Sorell in the North West grand final and did not qualify for the State Pennant finals. Port Sorell will be full of confidence after defeating the star-studded Ulverstone lineup and will play Longford on Saturday morning in a game that should go down to the last bowl. Longford has won the last five Northern premierships and won the State Premiership in 2023 and will be looking to add another State Premiership to its haul of trophies. The loser of the Por Sorell and Longford game will face off against Kingborough on Saturday afternoon. Kingborough has been the top side in the South for many years, winning their fourth pennant in succession and their seventh in the past ten years and won the State Premiership in 2024 . The winner of the Port Sorell and Longford game will play Kingborough on Sunday morning in a game that should decide who will be the Premier Division State Champions for 2025-26.
Premier and Divisions 1 and 3 are being played at Ulverstone. Divisions 2, 4 and 5 are being played at Turners Beach with Division 6 being played at Kings Meadows. Games commence at 9.30am and 1pm on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.
All games will be live scored on the Bowls Link Results Portal.
