State Pairs Championships underway
Tasmania’s best bowlers took to the greens at Ulverstone, Latrobe and Penguin Bowls Clubs today as Bowls Tasmania’s Gala Week continued with sectional play in the Men’s and Women’s Open Pairs Championships being played.
After two warm and sunny days, the weather turned and players had to rug up against the cold and intermittent showers in the afternoon.
Sectional winners in the Men’s Open Pairs Championships were Mark Atkinson and Trey Daines, Dylan Fisher and Rob McMullen, Codi Marshall and Joshua Marshall, Darren Fielding and Michael Andersch, Riley Davie and Cameron Norris, Mark Nitz and Eden Moore and Mark Strochnetter and Archie Burton.
In the Women’s Open Pairs Championships, sectional play winners were Karen King and Vicki Beattie, Charlie Harkness and Mikayla Baker, Kerrie Lane and Tracey Little, Rose’anne Howard-Smith and Pam Vant, Jean Claridge and Debbie Lee, Vicki Winley and Trudy Rundle, Jenny Archer and Terese Brett and Leanne Lockhart and Cheryl Fielding.
The championships continue tomorrow with post-sectional play and semi-finals in the Men’s and Women’s Open Pairs Championships. Sectional play also commences in the Para Bowls Pairs. All games will be played at Ulverstone.
