Rebecca Van Asch inducted into World Bowls Hall of Fame
Invermay’s Rebecca Van Asch was inducted into the World Bowls Hall of Fame at a special ceremony on Saturday night attended by Bowls Malaysia’s royal patron, Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, during the World Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
A three-time World Champion, two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist, including the double/double of World Championships and Commonwealth gold in the triples and fours in 2016 and 2018, and six Australian Open championships, Van Asch’s achievements reflect her composure, consistency and influence both on and off the green.
Van Asch continues to nurture Australia’s elite as Bowls Australia’s High Performance Manager, she still pays top-level bowls as part of the Tasmania Tridents in the Bowls Premier league and is a member of the Tasmanian Women’s Open Sides team that will be competing in the Australian Sides Championship in Devonport later this month.
