The Tasmanian Peet Kay lawn bowls touring group travelled to Sydney in the last week of August to contest the Peet Kay Lawn Bowls Cup. The “Cup” first contested in 1962 is an annual event between NSW and Tasmania. Played on a three “test” format over four days with 28 bowlers from each state for the converted Peet Kay Cup.

Tasmania visit NSW in August each year with NSW travelling to Tasmania in February for the return “bout”.

Played in magnificent weather on very fast greens New South Wales proved too strong for the Tasmanian contingent. Tasmanian tour leader Ian Edwards said “the tour was once again a great success for bowls, he congratulated all participants and supporters for their commitment and competitive spirit”. NSW will be visiting Tasmania in February 2025 for the next challenge which will be played in the northwest region of the state.
