Vacancy – Satellite Coach Tasmania

Bowls Tasmania is looking for a Satellite Coach based in Tasmania to oversee its High-Performance Program.   The Satellite Coach will be responsible for:

Work with Bowls Tasmania (BTAS) to develop, maintain and implement its High-Performance Plan and annual High-Performance Calendar.

  • Liaison with other BTAS coaches and selectors.
  • Sit as a member of the Bowls Tasmania Bowls Premier League (BPL) subcommittee and BPL selection panel and play an organisational role in establishing a Tasmania Tridents squad and associated training opportunities.

To be successful in this role you need to meet the following criteria:

Thorough understanding and knowledge of bowls at a state  level.

  • Minimum coaching accreditation of Club Coach or be willing to obtain accreditation.
  • Experience in developing individuals, including implementing programs. (negotiable).
  • Be willing to support an effective high-performance program.
  • Technology skills – computer: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Teams, Zoom.
  • Current Working With Vulnerable People check.
  • Outstanding communication skills (both verbal and written) to be able to liaise with a wide range of people including athletes, service providers, management etc.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as an active participant in a team.
  • Prepared to travel intrastate; work weekends and non-traditional hours as required.

Mentoring support from the Bowls Australia Pathways system will be provided to assist in the  development and upskilling of the BTAS Satellite Coach.

The initial term of this appointment is for eighteen  months.  The role will be extended beyond 31 March 2026 dependent on funding.
