Tasmania Tridents still on track for finals berth after Day Three of BPL#18

Tasmania Tridents had an up and down day in Bowls Australia’s Bowls Premier League (BPL)#18 which continued at Club Pine Rivers in Brisbane today winning two of their five games played and finishing the day in fourth position, but just one win away from top spot.

The Tridents lost to Gold Coast Hawks first up in a tie-breaker 4-5, 6-1 and 0-1.

In their second game, the Tridents again went down in a tie breaker losing to Adelaide Pioneers 3-11, 10-2 and 0-1.

In their third game today, the Tridents turned it around with a solid win over the more fancied Tweeds Head Osprey winning 2-6, 7-4 and 2-0 in the tie breaker.

Another close loss in the tie breaker in their fourth game of the day and it looked like the Trident’s BPL#18 campaign was unravelling due to heartbreaking losses in their tie breaker games, losing to Melbourne Extreme 7-8, 11-1 and 0-1 in the tie breaker.

However, in their final game which was broadcast live on Kayo and Fox Sport, the Tridents bounced back against the Melbourne Pulse winning a nerve-wracking game 8-4, 4-13 and 3-0 in another tie breaker.

BPL#18 continues tomorrow with the Tasmania Tridents taking on Moama Steamers, Sydney Lions and then Adelaide pioneers in the televised game on Kayo and Fox Sports at 6pm.

Live streaming continues starting at 12 noon tomorrow on the Bowls Australia Facebook page or on its You Tube channel.
