Tasmania Tridents on fire on Day One of BPL#18
Bowls Australia’s Bowls Premier League (BPL)#18 started at Club Pine Rivers in Brisbane today and our own Tasmania Tridents were on fire winning two of their three games played and finishing the day in fourth position.
The Tridents line up of Rebecca Van Asch, Michael Sims and newcomer Rob McMullen with coach Mark Strochnetter took it up to their more fancied opponents in a great start to BPL$18.
The Tridents defeated Tweed Heads Osprey first up in straight sets 5-4 and 8-5.
In their second game the Tridents beat Melbourne Extreme 3-4, 6-4 and 2-0 in the one-end tiebreak.
In their final game today, the Tridents were beaten by the competitions reigning champions Moama Steamers 7-7 and 2-9.
BPL#18 continues tomorrow with the Tasmania Tridents taking on Perth Suns, Moreton Bay Pirates, Melbourne Pulse and then Sydney Lions in the televised game on Kayo and Fox Sports at 6.15pm.
