by Rob McGuire on November 11, 2022

The Tasmania Tridents finished Bowls Australia’s Bowls Premier League#16 on a high defeating two of the top three teams on the final day of the competition today but it was not enough to grab a finals berth.

In their first game today, the Tridents outplayed the then top team Sydney Lions winning in straight sets 7-2 and 4-2 but dropped the second game against Perth Suns  5-5 and 3-8.

In their final game of the competition, the Tridents showed that they can match it with the best players in the world by defeating top-side Moreton Bay Pirates 1-9, 9-2 and 1-0 to finish the event in a creditable eighth position and just one win out of the top five.

Congratulations to out Tasmanian Tridents – Rebecca Van Asch, Mark Nitz and Taelyn Male and Coach Mark Strochnetter – you have done Tasmania proud.
