Day Two Results – Bowls Premier League

by Rob McGuire on November 8, 2022

A dream start to BPL#15 in May 2022 saw the Tasmania Tridents win five of their first seven games to race into second position.   Things haven’t gone as well at BPL#16 which is being played at Club Pine Rivers in Brisbane this week with the Tridents winning just three  of their first seven games but will take confidence from winning their final two games of day two to finish the day in eighth position,

In their first game today, the Tridents started slowly against the Sydney Lions losing the first set 0-7, but fought back to narrowly win the second set 7-6 to force the game into a tiebreaker which Sydney won 2-0.

Melbourne Pulse was too good for the Tridents in the second game of the day winning the first set 7-1 before losing the second set 4-5 and winning the tiebreaker 4-0.

Desperately needing a win to stay in the race for a finals spot, the Tridents dug deep to defeat Adelaide Pioneers 6-2, 4-8 and 2-0 in the tiebreaker.

In their final game on day two, which was shown live on Fox Sports and Kayo, the Tridents won their second game in a row to defeat Perth Suns in straight sets 4-3 and 7-5

Ladder at the end of day two:

  1. Sydney Lions 15 points
  2. Melbourne Pulse 15 points
  3. Moreton Bay Pirates 12 points
  4. Melbourne Extreme 12 point
  5. Tweed Head Ospreys 9 points
  6. Moama Steamers 9 points
  7. Adelaide Pioneers 9 points
  8. Tasmania Tridents 9 points
