by Rob McGuire on January 7, 2022

The best senior (over 60’s) bowlers in Tasmania will be on show at Bowls Tasmania’s Seniors Championships which will be held in Launceston from Saturday until next Wednesday.

Many of the current and past stars of the sport in Tasmania will be showing their stuff in men’s and women’s fours and pairs championships which get underway on Sunday morning with sectional play in the men’s fours championship at North Launceston and the women’s fours championship at Invermay.

“Bowls Tasmania has worked really hard in recent years to develop its Seniors Championships.  The number of entries continues to grow, and we are confident with the terrific support of Bowls North that we will see continued success in this event” said Bowls Tasmania CEO Rob McGuire.

North Launceston Bowls Club will be the host club for this event, while Invermay, Trevallyn, Kings Meadows and Deloraine Bowls Clubs will all act as support clubs.

The third and final round of the Juniors State Wide Challenge involving junior representative teams from the North West Coast, Launceston and Hobart will be played at Longford on Sunday with Bowls North West holding a handy lead and seem certain to be crowned champions.
