It’s a huge day of action coming up on Day 2 of the Bowls Tasmania State Championships, with the Mixed Pairs in the spotlight.

The Round of 16 matches, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Final will all be staged today at the Beltana Bowls Club, with the Final to be live-streamed on the Bowls Tasmania Facebook page from approximately 4:30pm.

In yesterday’s Mixed Pairs action, a number of State Squad members as well as the Defending Champions went down, showing the depth of talent in the state.

It will be an all-husband and wife match-up this morning when Deb & Chris Lee take on Shane & Di Peck, with the in-form Pecks fresh off a big victory yesterday, where they defeated State Representatives Michael Sims and Bec Van Asch.

State Junior Representative Isaac Maughan, along with Christine Thompson take on Sandy Bay’s Anne & Keith Hinkley, while former Australian Representative Mark Strochnetter and current State Women’s Bowler of the Year Kim Saunders, take on Dover’s Barbara Liddington and Chris Norris.

Monday’s action will also feature the start of the Junior Pairs Championship at the Beltana Bowls Club, and the Bowling Arm Singles, which will be staged jointly at the Claremont & Buckingham Bowls Clubs, with entries almost doubling on last year’s.

The four-day Championships run through until Wednesday, when Finals will be staged in the Men’s & Women’s Open Triples, Bowling Arm Singles, as well as the Junior Singles & Pairs.
