Day 2 wrap of the Australian Senior Sides

by admin on October 12, 2015

Tasmania fought back this morning after a disappointing first day on the green, only dropping a drawn rink this morning across the six on offer.  The men made it a clean sweep winning on all 3 rinks this morning against the Northern Territory while the women also showed a dominant display winning on two rinks and claiming a draw on the third.
This afternoon proved a far tougher feat as we took on Queensland.  Tasmania’s men’s rink of Phil Moore, Peter Zoon, Wayne Wilcox and Evol Kaine were the best performed rink of the Tigers today with a dominant 24 shot victory over the NT before backing it up with a draw against the Queensland power house this afternoon.  Our women came up against an inform Maroons outfit that are the only undefeated women’s team in the competition and fell just short of the overall victory with a mere 9 shot loss.  The rink of Kim Saunders, Maxine Monson, Leonie Price and Jeanette Lane were the only Tassie rink to get through the day unscathed with a 12 shot win to play their part for the tigers.
The New South Wales men have one hand on the men’s overall trophy still yet to drop a game in the competition.
Play will continue at North Launceston Bowls Club in the morning at 9am.
