Tas Indoor Qualifying Draws
Bowls Tasmania are pleased to announce a record number of entries in this years Tasmanian Indoor Qualifying event. The women’s entries have increased by almost 70% proving they were deserving of their increase in spots in the National event, with Tasmania now holding 2 men’s and women’s positions in the main draw. This continues an increased trend of participation by women in events this season, after an increase in entries in the State Open Championships earlier this year. With 80% of entries coming from women in the North and South regions of the state where the introduction of Open Gender Pennant is now in play on Saturdays.
The Men have also continued their growth in participation in State events after a successful State Championships in January they have also increased their entries by over 10% and have also earned their worth of 2 spots in the National Event that will be held at the Tweed Heads Bowls Club from the 24th – 27th August 2015.
Due to increased numbers in both disciplines the event has needed to be staged over 3 days, with the event commencing at 4pm on Friday Afternoon and continuing those sections into the evening. For any players or spectators competing on Friday Night or are planning on going to watch any of the action, please be aware that the White Jack Bistro will be open for Meals from 5.30pm. You will be required to make a reservation for a table at the Bistro by 5pm Thursday 30th April to secretary@kingboroughbowlsclub.com.au
During the event there will be light snacks/meals available for participants and spectators to purchase at the club on Saturday and Sunday with Pies, Saveloys, Toasted Sandwiches, Salad Rolls and Soup available.
