Markers Course
Bowls Australia have spent 18 months developing the new National Umpiring structure, incorporating separate Marker, Measurer, and National Umpire courses. They are now ready for delivery.
With the advent of the newly formatted State Championships, there will be multiple MARKERS required for the 1st round of the Singles, particularly on Sunday 4th January 2015. It is the intent of BTAS to have quarter finals and onwards officiated only by newly qualified personnel, and these duties will be appointed by BTAS based on merit. Other Markers courses (as well as Measurer and National Umpire) will be offered in different regional areas as soon as practicable.
Bowls Tasmania would like to announce a MARKERS COURSE to be held in the North.
The newly developed Bowls Australia course material will be delivered at this course.
Note: This particular course focusses on upskilling current Markers, and accrediting new Markers, to provide an efficient service to bowlers. It has little reference to ‘rules’, as that is covered at length in the National Umpires Course. As we expect many participants, there will be two (2) venues running at the same time. On the next page, you will be able to choose which venue suits you best.
Date: Sunday 14th December 2014
Where: West Launceston BC + North Launceston BC
Time: 10:00am – 2:00pm
