New Australian Indoor Championships Qualifying Format.
Bowls Tasmania are pleased to announce the new format for
this year’s Australian Indoor Championships Tasmanian Qualifying. After declining numbers after the last few
years that have seen our entries into the Australian Indoor Field gradually
reduced from 6 back to 3 Bowls Tasmania are revamping things into a tournament
style event. This will see the event
held as a State Open event for anyone across Tasmania to enter and will be held
over one weekend at the end of June, this year at the Kingborough Indoor
Centre. Each region will have a turn at
hosting the event as it rotates through the regions from year to year.
This concept varies from the previous format of regional
qualifying first and then only the top two progressing through to the State
playoffs. Entry forms for this event
will be released on May 9th 2014.
Bowls Tasmania are currently seeking a sponsor for this
event, to provide prize money for the successful qualifies to help towards out
of pocket expenses to travel to the National Competition at Tweed Heads Bowls
Club in August.
