IT system rolls out
The whole of sport IT system has been rolled out Jean Paviour-Smith from the Lorn Park Bowls Sports and Recreation Club in New South Wales is just as excited about the introduction of Bowls’ new Whole of Sport IT system with IMG Sports Technology Group (IMG STG) as the rest of the country.
As clubs around Australia sign up for free websites courtesy of the IMG STG system, we caught up with Jean who has invested a lot of time transferring her club’s site from the old system to see what her experience has been like.
Jean’s old website received approximately 1,500 to 2,000 hits per month.
Initially, Jean was apprehensive about changing to a new system, however the ongoing support Jean received from the team at IMG STG made her life a lot easier. Jean is comforted by the fact that IMG STG provide constant support when needed and “Natalie Coffin [Website Support Coordinator] has been wonderfully responsive and helpful”.
Some features, such as the bulk image upload, are not available on the [free] SiteDesq platform, but the team at IMG STG has worked hard to support Jean in the migration process.
The new website layout and design has fewer sub-menus and has a cleaner look and feel to it.
“I have taught myself how to create a header…and how to create a favicon (website favourites icon) which is great fun as we never had one before,” Paviour-Smith said.
“I have become more creative with my layout. It looks better the IMG STG way.”
Lorn Park has also purchased their own domain name – www.lornpark.com.au – which links to their new IMG STG website. Clubs can purchase their own domain or access bowls.com.au as their free domain name.

It is important to note that the SportingPulse system will cease to be available to all bowls associations and clubs currently using this system from June 30 and all content on these websites should be saved to ensure that it is retained.
