COMMITTEES

Umpires

The principle function of this committee is to provide district examining panels with the necessary tutorial guidelines and all relevant examination questions, papers and practical tests as set down by the BA National Rules Committee for the accreditation and re-accreditation of national umpires.  It will also resolve and report on any questions, interpretation or decisions on the laws of the game of bowls as may be referred to it.

Coaches

All sportspeople have been coached at some stage of their careers. With the huge numbers of new bowlers and school clinics aspiring to further their skills and knowledge of the game coaches are in high demand. Most clubs have at least one coach, not only to assist new bowlers, but also to assist club members with their training routines and error detection and correction. The coaches committee undertakes the accreditation and re-accreditation of coaches to the required standards of Bowls Australia and Bowls Tasmania.

 Event Management

Events Management Committees (2) have been formed to coordinate the administration of State events. The Men’s committee is responsible for events for men only and the Women’s committee is likewise responsible for all events for women.

 Selection

The aim of the State Selection Policy is to ensure the best possible players/sides are selected to represent at a National or Test event and such selections are conducted in a fair, impartial and organised manner.

 Green Keepers Association

The Association of Green Keepers has been formed to develop and share best practice information about the keeping and preparing of bowling greens in the state of Tasmania.
