Get on The Green
Get on the Green is one form of social bowls that is conducted by many club's around Tasmania. This is a concept developed between Bowls Australia and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC).
The Aim of GOTG- The main aim of GOTG is to provide a relaxed and casual easy-to-play sporting environment for all participants. All club's are entitled to form a Get on the Green competition, and use it as a form of recruiting new members.
The program comprises of the following- (quoted from BA website)
A structured program – a weekly competition played on a weekday evening with modified game formats.
A fun atmosphere – the playing environment is fun, fast-paced and designed to suit all skill levels.
Flexibility – participants have the option of registering as a team or as an individual.
Equipment – all equipment will be provided by the bowls club at no extra cost. Participants need only wear casual clothing and flat-soled shoes.
Coaching – provide general instruction to participants on the basic skills of bowls.
