Members Update – CAPITATIONS

by Rebecca Van Asch on May 12, 2020

Dear Members,

Bowls Tasmania is very pleased to announce a significant decrease in capitations to each individual Tasmanian Bowler for the 2020/21 season.

After a complete analysis and review of the Bowls Tasmania budget for the 2020/21 financial year it has been determined that a reduction can be made for all members.  This is due to the cancelation of representative sides competitions for this year as a result of COVID-19 along with assistance through other funding opportunities being made available during this difficult time.  Therefore Bowls Tasmania is in a position to reduce all capitation fees by approximately 30%.

Bowls Tasmania felt it was important to pass on all savings the State body has been able to make to the individual bowler to ensure that all members find some financial relief at this time and in preparation for the new season.  We are acutely aware that this has been a trying time for our Clubs and bowlers, and we are all in this together.  This is why Bowls Tasmania feel it is important to shoulder some of the financial burden with you.

Members currently pay $52 (adults) and $37 (juniors) in capitations to Bowls Tasmania, with part of that fee also going to Bowls Australia and World Bowls.  The 2020/21 season will see the Bowls Tasmania fees reduced to $37 per adult and $26 per junior.  This equates to approximately a $63,000 loss to Bowls Tasmania for this coming financial year.

Please note this reduction only refers to the Bowls Tasmania (including Bowls Australia & World Bowls) component of your capitation fees.  This does not include your regional capitations or Club fees.

Once again Bowls Tasmania would like to offer our best wishes to all bowlers and hope you are all keeping safe and well during this time.  We are doing all we can to offer assistance to Club’s during this time and should your Club require anything at all please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards,

Bowls Tasmania
